5 Spring Trends Ready for the Office

Trends come and go so it is important to choose wisely. Keep in mind, not all trends work for everyone and many are not office appropriate, unless of course you work in the fashion industry. Below is my take on how these trends can be worn in the office.

Color: Most people find yellow hard to wear, but this season, there are options galore. Find the shade that works best with your natural coloring and shine on! Try this yellow trench from Banana Republic or this dress from J.Crew.

Stripes: Inspired by Wall Street but ready for Fashion Avenue, stripes can make a classic style look bold or a bold style look classic. The choice is yours. Step out of your comfort zone and make a statement this season. Try a classic style knit dress with bold vertical stripes or this top and skirt combination from the Carlisle Collection. Or this knit dress from Ann Taylor.

Florals: From blouses to bags, florals are all over the runway. Make this look office appropriate by wearing it in smaller doses. A floral blouse paired with a classic pant or blazer or a floral knit dress looks stylish yet confident and professional.

Waist Cinchers: Accentuate your waist with this trend. Give a plain dress or top a stylish boost with any of these belt options.

Shoes: There are so many styles to choose from this season but many are not office appropriate. I like sandals with a low blocked heal or a pointy toe sling back. Try a classic pump in one of the trend colors. Stuart Weiztman has a plethora of choices, and Ann Taylor carries a fabulous tassel pump.
